Gods of Rome is a 2D fighting game set in a mythical world where Roman and Greek soldiers do battle alongside minotaurs, Medusa, and gods like Zeus and Hades.
The combat system in Gods of Rome is perfectly adapted to touch screens. You don't need a virtual stick or buttons to make your character defend, dodge, or do different types of attacks. For instance, you just slide to the right to do a medium-strength attack, and block the enemy by tapping on the left.
As usual, at the start of the game you can only use one character, but soon enough you can unlock new warriors. You can also improve the attributes of your fighters. Zeus, Prometheus, Vulcan, Atlas, and Spartacus are just some of the heroes you can use.
The main game mode in Gods of Rome is an extensive campaign for a single player, in which you'll cross through iconic locations like Mount Olympus, the Roman Coliseum, and the one and only Pompeii. That said, you'll also find events where you can fight other players in PvP battles.
Gods of Rome is a fighting game that really stands out for its amazing graphics and highly refined controls. The only downside is that the theme is somewhat generic, not very original.
